No. Most new goods don't. Permits mainly apply to used or second-hand goods, surplus stock, waste and goods on ITAC's control lists. We check your goods and tariff codes to confirm.
Do I need to register with SARS first?
Yes. ITAC permits are issued to importers and exporters who are registered with SARS Customs.
Does ITAC charge for permits?
ITAC does not charge a service fee for permit applications. Customs duties and VAT are paid to SARS separately.
